Change to light then darker green

Echo of autumn.

Green fire spreading

Brilliant glow as trees leaf out

Unquenched by cool lake.

Colors sift through air

Molten sun in swirling sky

Gilding dark hillsides.

With gentle babble

Brook rambles past grassy banks

Forest clothed in green.

Sun at edge of earth

Trees lean with gnarled branches

Thousand shades of green.

Trees extend young leaves

Green shimmers on deep blue lake

Lone stump on far shore.

Pale blush of cherries

Frames a twilight sky beyond

Waxing gibbous moon.

Before sun appears

Tendrils of color in sky

Peaks rise from darkness.
