Forest of giants

Leaning upward into light

Fading far above.

Stone heart carved by waves

Sure return of ceaseless sea

Faithful beyond time.

Arched bridge forms circle

Mirrored in storm dappled lake

Rain walks on water.

White waves on black stones

Silky mist of endless tides

Slowed to ocean’s pulse.

Redwoods splinter sun

Into a dozen sharp rays

Sifting through soft mist.

Cloud draped over top

Snowy mountain iced in pink 

Glow from setting sun.

 

Recent melted snows

Flow into a mountain stream

Moss green winter dream.

Pines pierce bitter winds

Cool water catches warm sky

Last light before night.
