Green trees blue water

Twisted branches sprout new leaves

Fed by April rain.

Brilliant dots of green

Leaves glow in afternoon sun

Dabbed on mountaintop.

Trailing edge of clouds

Sudden storm is swept away

Hidden blue revealed.

Red buds pink flowers

Burst open to mountain mist

Bright haze of blossoms.

Mountains ascending

Gentle peaks hold each other

As they reach for sky.

Spring showers swell stream

Ribbons of water falling

Ancient rocks glisten.

Cloud spirals upward

Trees exhale in fading light

Sky draws black curtain.

Shrub shaped by tempests

Clings to lichen crusted rocks

Endless peaks below.

Surging down mountain

Rain swollen stream roars softly

Over mossy rocks.
