Slivers of clouds float

Above bright ribbon of light

Trees etched into sky.

Skipping over stones

Water turns from blue to white

Tiny waterfalls.

Trees balanced on slopes

Mountain worn by flowing stream

Over many moons.

Peaks swallowed by fog

Only trees know where earth ends

And thin air begins.

Embraced by branches

Sun pauses just a moment

Nestled among trees.

 

Green trees blue water

Twisted branches sprout new leaves

Fed by April rain.

Brilliant dots of green

Leaves glow in afternoon sun

Dabbed on mountaintop.

Trailing edge of clouds

Sudden storm is swept away

Hidden blue revealed.
