Shaggy mat of green gold fur

Brushed by lapping waves.

Ocean carved strange shapes

Endless tides slowly sculpting

Sea’s stone monuments.

Poised at precipice

Tree shaped by time and tempests

Swept across rough seas.

 

Waves shimmer and dance

Boulders float in moonlight glow

Dreams of midnight sea.

Shrouded in thick fog

Jagged rocks claw at gray sky

Edges torn by waves.

Rocks cradle ocean/ Bands of sunset color stretch / Across fading sky.

First tint of sunset –

Clouds above and clouds below

Creased snow brushed ridges.

Oak leaves still clinging

River curves through whitened woods

Blue path of water.

Snowy mountain lake

Mirror of pale distant sky

Shines a deeper blue.
